   This is an excellent hiking shoe. It is very stable, providing very good support when walking over uneven surfaces, such as walking through hilly forests. It is also very comfortable. It has served me well, too, as a snow boot, although it is low-cut and not totally waterproof. I just slip a light plastic bag (those used by my newspaper deliverer to protect the paper) over my socks. That provides extra warmth and keeps my feet dry. I do this rather than buy a high-top waterproof boot, because I have an artificial left knee joint that makes it very difficult to pull on a high-top boot. This shoe/boot is really easy and painless to pull on and off. It holds up to all topographic and weather conditions. I think it’s a fine shoe and a great value.

   Once more a great product from Hi-Tec !!

   After my previous pair wore out I compared searched and found the type of boot I wanted, and Hi-Tec won hands down for price, quality and fit (no need for insoles). These boots are even good in snow and keep my feet warm and dry even at -10 Celsius.
